Ruth Roman was born on June 22nd, 1939, on June 22, 1939 in Lynn Massachusetts. Ruth Roman is the youngest child of Lithuanian Jewish parents Mary Pauline Gold & Abraham Roman. The young woman was just a child when her father, who was employed as an carnival barker, died. Her mother had to perform tasks including waitressing and cleaning. Ruth was born in the poorest neighborhood in Boston Massachusetts in which she went to school. She quit school in just two years in order to study acting. The path she chose was filled with problems. After obtaining a position in New York as a model for a magazine that dealt with detectives, she found it difficult to find opportunities for stage. Then, she worked as the hat checker in a night club before calling it quits and returning to Boston. It was there that she was able to earn a living in the ushering industry during the day, and at night performed with the New England Repertory Company. It was her first job as an actor. Also, she studied drama. She eventually graduated from the Bishop-Lee Theatre School.
